The Saskatchewan Retirees Association (SRA) is thrilled to announce the launch of our Legacy Scholarship program for 2025, a highlight of SRA’s 50th Anniversary celebrations. These scholarships are designed to support the post-secondary aspirations of SRA family members, with a special focus on studies that improve the health and well-being of seniors.
Focus on Health Care
Preference will be given to students pursuing education in healthcare disciplines aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the aging population
Scholarship Details
The scholarships will be available to students attending the University of Regina, the University of Saskatchewan, and Saskatchewan Polytechnic. A total of 15 scholarships, each valued at $5,000, will be awarded—five from each institution. This initiative represents a $75,000 investment in education and innovation in seniors.
The SRA has finalized the dates for the SRA Legacy Scholarship awards applications. Please apply on the website of the applicable institution. SRA does not have educational institution application forms.
The University of Saskatchewan has extended the application period for the SRA Legacy Scholarship to June 30th, 2025. Their website will be available for application effective June 11th, 2025.
The University of Regina application period will start on September 4th, 2025 and close October 1st, 2025.
Sask PolyTechnic will open their competition to start July 15th, 2025 and the application period will close September 15th, 2025.
Eligibility and Application Process
To be eligible to apply for the scholarships, students must first verify their family connection to an SRA member as of December 31, 2024. Once verified, students will be provided with a letter of eligibility which they can submit with their application to their chosen institution for the SRA Legacy Scholarship Program.

The SRA Board of Directors encourages as many eligible students as possible to apply. We wish you all the best in your studies and future endeavors.
The SRA membership committee needs review and verify the student being a relative of the SRA member via the verification form. Once approved the student applies for the scholarship. The SRA will advise the student when approved.
